"When an object is submerged in liquid, a reaction occurs—matter is displaced and buoyancy takes effect, as articulated by Archimedes' principle. The fluid is pushed aside to make room for the object.
However, the dynamic changes dramatically with living organisms. Sea creatures thrive and breathe in water, whereas humans cannot survive underwater without a supply of oxygen. The typical person, confident enough to enter the water, may immerse themselves briefly or simply take a swim.
Surfers and divers, on the other hand, must adapt to this foreign environment, venturing into deeper, more unpredictable waters. In these moments, a range of physical, mental, and emotional reactions are set into motion.
This exhibition explores the interplay between humans and water, capturing the essence of these reactions and the unique relationship we have with this element."
